when I opened my eyes to see why...there were ants all over her face!

4. My missionary scripture is Ether 12:4

Wherefore, whoso believeth in God might with surety hope for a better world, yea, even a place at the right hand of God, which hope cometh of faith, maketh an anchor to the souls of men, which would make them sure and steadfast, always abounding in good works, being led to glorify God.

5. Yep Presidente has one daughter that has down's syndrome, but she is able to go to college, so she is spending time in Idaho with family and then she will go to Utah State! She is awesome!

So San Fernando is very religious. Churches everywhere. Everyone is pretty much Catholic! I love that everyone is so focused on God. We have had a lot of cool conversations with people as we knock doors. They usually are not interested in hearing our message, but at least God is a part of their lives. The other day our bike lock jammed, so our bikes were stuck around a stop sign. We pulled at it for a while, but it would not budge. All of the sudden this man emerged from some bushes hahaha it was pretty funny, but he asked if we needed any help. He looked at the lock and said, "Do you believe in God?" Si. "Do you believe God can do all things?" Si. "Then lets says a prayer!" He grabbed our hands and boy did he pray! He prayed for a solid 8 minutes about faith to move mountains, how God created this lock and he can fix it, he was raising his voice and praising God! It was awesome. The bad thing was Hermana Day was standing on an anthill. She ripped her hand out of mine and when I opened my eyes to see why...there were ants all over her face! Hahah I was trying so hard not to laugh. There we were, standing in a circle, with some random guy, praying over a bike lock, and Hna Day has ants all over her! I love my life. Finally he was done praying, and I asked if I could also say a quick prayer. My prayer was about 30 seconds because I do not know much spanish vocab about bikes, but it was sincere. I wish I could tell you the bike lock came undone, but it was still stuck. The guy seemed a little discouraged, so we told him that we are going to put our faith into action, and we got a hammer and smashed the lock to pieces. We thanked the man for his faith and kindness, and biked to our next appointment and just laughed and laughed!

Here is my other funny story for the week! Most of the people in our area live in little apartments that just have one room, so the kitchen, bedroom, and living room is all packed into one. So we ate at a members house the other day and she has a HUGE tv on her dining table, and she really wanted to watch this Spanish interview with Jake Gyllenhaal. Confession: I love Jake Gyllenhaal. He is in some boxing movie i guess, so every clip they showed of him he was shirtless. There I was...eating my chicken, tortillas, mango, and rice (yummmm) and if I turned my head 90 degrees I would be nose-to-six pack with Hermano Gyllenhaal. hahaha I was trying really hard to focus on our dinner. #temptation

Ok enough of that :) we have seen so many miracle this week! I love the words of Morticai to Esther where he basically says, "Get out of the way! This is a lot bigger than you. You need to do this for the sons and daughters of God!"  We found one family who was super prepared to hear our message! Read Alma 16:16-17. The Lord is always preparing people to hear and accept that gospel. Our job is to get out of the way, and follow the spirit to find these people! This family asked so many good questions. We are teaching them about the plan of salvacion tonight and I cannot wait! They have one little daughter and I know families can live together forever! We will also get to teach about the atonement. The atonement is so powerful. All that is unjust in our lives will be made right through the atonement. Everything is possible through the atonement!

I met one of the members in our ward this week. His sister is in the hospital right now because her liver pretty much exploded because of how much alcohol she has been drinking. He used to drink as much as her, but he learned about the gospel with his wife and they promised to never drink again! Through the enabling power of the atonement and baptism he hasn't had a drink since! It takes a lot of courage to stop drinking or smoking or using drugs, but Christ is there for us every step of the way! And it is great when members can get involved and be friends with those who are investigating. It is so awesome what you are doing mom. Our ward is split up into 3 areas and my area does not have many active members, so we have a hard time finding members to come with us. I wish I could bring you along :)

I love you all so so so much! This week is going to be great. Remember the Lord is in the details of your lives. Always be looking for the small miracles and tender mercies that happen so often throughout the day!
